For Help Understanding and Coping with
Adult Attention Deficit Disorder
Have you experienced some of the following problems: lack of focus, procrastination, chronic messiness and losing things, difficulty keeping up with tasks, impulsivity, or difficulty being still? You may feel frustrated with your ability to complete tasks at home and/or at work.
Perhaps you were diagnosed with ADHD as a child. Have you been assessed more recently? Or are you someone who has never been diagnosed but have strong suspicions that you have ADHD?
Do you feel like you're particularly disorganized, distractible or impulsive, but never had ADHD testing? Do you wonder if you still have ADHD as an adult, though you were diagnosed as a child?
Do you struggle with time management, procrastination, meeting deadlines at work and wonder if your employer could offer accommodations if you had a documented ADHD diagnosis?
Have ADHD symptoms taken over your life? When you have ADHD, you may notice a number of symptoms that interfere with the quality of your life.
Or perhaps you have never received a diagnosis of ADHD, but you recognize many of these symptoms in yourself. You might want to control some of your actions, but find you have trouble doing this on your own and would like to know if ADHD is the issue.
Have you or your partner been diagnosed with ADHD or experienced ADHD-like symptoms? Have ADHD behaviors brought about a sense of frustration or helplessness on both of your parts?
You and your partner may be engaged in a pattern where the person with ADHD feels nagged and misunderstood and the partner without ADHD feels he or she is managing the household and family without help and participation.
